Visit to Japan by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Gabrielius Landsbergis

On May 15-17, 2023, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Gabrielius Landsbergis visited Japan, where he participated in the Munich Leaders' Conference and spoke on the topic "Ukraine today, East Asia tomorrow?" How to respond to revisionist challenges".

The Minister will also met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan Y. Hayashi, Minister of Digitalization T. Kono, Chairman of the Japan-Lithuanian Parliamentary Group H. Nakasone and other parliamentarians and companies of the Japan Foreign Trade Organization (JETRO), to whom he presented business and investment opportunities in Lithuania.

"We are grateful to Japan for its principled position towards Russia. We must continue to strengthen sanctions against Russia - we appreciate Japan's strong leadership in the G7. We must not get tired of supporting Ukraine - it is necessary to provide all kinds of support until the victory of Ukraine", said G. Landsbergis during the meeting, noting that the impact of Russian aggression in Ukraine is not limited to Europe.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania emphasized that Lithuania and Japan are like-minded people united by common values, respect for rules-based order, principles of human rights, and the desire to preserve peace and security in the region and the world.
