Visit of Ambassador G. Varvuolis in Okinawa
Ambassador G. Varvuolis paid an official visit to Okinawa Prefecture. He met there with Governor Deni Tamaki, Mayors of Okinawa and Ie municipalities, President of Meio University Katsunori Yamazato and discussed the opportunities for cooperation in the fields of information technology, agriculture and academic exchanges.
G. Varvuolis made a presentation about Lithuania at the Ie Junior High School. He also visited the infrastructure objects that are being built for the 2023 World Basketball Championship and offered to share Lithuania's experience in organizing large-scale basketball events.
The Ambassador also met with local business representatives, visited companies, and gave a lecture to young people on the prospects for cultural exchange. The visit was organized with help of Japan-Lithuania Exchange Center Chairman Kenjiro Tamaki.
