UN Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice in Kyoto

On March 7-12, UN Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice is taking place in Kyoto. On its first day, Lithuanian Minister of Justice E. Dobrovolska delivered a speech, emphasizing that Lithuania is already taking concrete steps to develop a sustainable and safe penitentiary system in line with international standards.
The UN Congress is attended by 5,600 delegates from 152 countries, most of whom have joined online. This is the first international event of this scale in Japan since the beginning of the pandemic, taking place in a hybrid way.
