"Lithuanian biochemical industry is not just a marketing trick – Lithuanian pharmaceuticals and dietary supplements are successfully sold in Nepal, Myanmar, Vietnam and Nigeria. Thai cuisine uses Lithuanian flour, and fertilizers from Lithuania reach farmers in at least 40 countries. We do have things to be proud of”, says Vidmantas Janulevičius from the Export Committee of Confederation of Lithuanian Industrialists (CLI).

Last year Lithuanian exports grew most rapidly in the whole European Union, by 15.7 percent, and hit the pre-crisis level of 2008.

"The country's economic growth is further driven by the growth of exports – the backbone of the national economy. Our export volume is one-third larger than before the crisis. However, we still need to further strengthen our business environment by attracting foreign investment, ensuring stable and predictable tax system and improving competitiveness at the corporate level," CLI President Robertas Dargis noted at the award ceremony.
