Time for Lithuania: Seven Flashes of Color

December 3, 2022, marks the beginning of seven-day festival “Time for Lithuania: Seven Flashes of Color", dedicated to 100th Anniversary of Friendship between Lithuania and Japan.

Events included a variety of programs that will allow you to discover, learn and enjoy Lithuania in a variety of ways - exhibitions of Lithuanian culture, food, amber, books, crafts, pop-up shops, workshops, presentations, and talks. Each day was dedicated to a unique theme, representing an invigorating flash of Lithuanian cultural colors: Art Day by an opening of photo exhibition of of Gintaras Česonis; Food Day - by introducing Lithuanian cuisine not only on display, but also tasting for the first time the rise balls made with the famous Lithuanian cheese Džiugas; Crafts Day - by sharing the beautiful Lithuanian tradition of linen, wooden craft, and amber; Chiune Sugihara Day - by honoring Chiune’s legacy and his message with future generations; Travel Day - by  a virtual visit to Lithuania through presentations by Mr. Noto, representative of Travel Lithuania in Japan; Book Day - by meeting the creators of "Siberian Haiku" - an intense, touching, and insightful book, a glimpse into life in exile for young adults; and finally, Friendship Day - by participating in the traditional Lithuanian games, songs and workshops organized by the director of Lithuanian School in Japan Ms. Giedre Oki. The Event was closed by sharing the sentiment of gratitude of the wonderful art installation from bread and salt (symbols of hospitality in Lithuania) by visiting artist Jolita Vaitkutė.
