"Time for Lithuania" - a cycle of events about Lithuania

On November 29,  Ambassador of Lithuania to Japan Aurelijus Zykas opened the photo exhibition "Vilnius - two cities" dedicated to the 700th anniversary of Vilnius. With this event, the week-long cycle of events about Lithuania "Time for Lithuania" began.

During the Lithuanian Food Day, Ambassador Aurelijus Zykas and Agriculture Attaché Kristina Mineikienė shared their insights on the Lithuanian agri-food sector and introduced two Lithuanian companies that came to Japan - Birštonas mineral water Japan and Bee Loop.

On tourism day, there was a talk show about travel, where photographer Yayoi Arimoto and writer Toshiya Muraoka shared experiences and images from their visit to Lithuania.

The fourth day of the cycle was dedicated to the Japanese diplomat Chiune Sugihara, who saved thousands of lives in Kaunas in 1940. The discussion was attended by Professor Inaba from Meijo University, Yaotsu Sugihara Museum Director Yamada, Tsuruga Humanities Museum Director Nishikawa and Dr. A. Kumpis from Lithuania.

The cycle of events was completed by the National Costume Day. After an informative lecture about the main ethnographic regions of Lithuania and their distinctive features, guests were invited to join a fun handmade weaving workshop and try on individual parts of the national costume.
