This year’s event was the third, and it enjoys growing popularity among Japanese youth each year. During three days of the 2014 Fair 2100 Japanese students who visited it had a chance to learn more about the study possibilities in European universities, including Lithuanian ones.

„Study in Lithuania“ booth was surrounded by the students willing to inquire about Lithuanian higher education institutions on all the days of the event. Majority of Japanese were interested in taking Lithuanian language courses prior to the main studies, also some of them were considering language courses as a chance to come to the country for a short visit. Lithuanian art appeared to be quite well known in Japan as many students were exploring possibilities of studying in Lithuania art, interior design, painting, music, theatre, etc. However, among the foreign students in Lithuania the most popular study fields remains engineering, medicine and political sciences.

The number of students from abroad in Lithuania grows each year – in 2014 it increase by 12%, up to 4152 student. In addition, another half of this number is coming as exchange students for 1 or 2 semesters. In Lithuania there are studying students from 95 different countries.
