Ruta and Zbignevas Ibelhauptas ended their concert tour in Japan
On 24th of August Millenium of Lithuania was commemorated in Tokyo by the concert of Lithuanian National Award of Art and Culture wining pianists Ruta and Zbignevas Ibelhauptas. The concert attracted many music lovers, academicians, specialists of different areas, diplomats, businessmen and media reprasentatives.By presenting this event Charge d’Affaires of The Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania in Japan Birute Abraitiene reminded about complicated Lithuanian Millennium history, Lithuania’s way to its Independence and culmination of Singing Revolution – the Baltic Way. Ruta and Zbignevas Piano Duo is popularizing Lithuanian composer’s works and started the concert with a piece “Miske” (“In the forest”) by M.K. Ciurlionis and arranged by Jonas Aleksa. Later on they performed modern music: “69” by Japanese composer Atsuhiko Gondai, “Tono ontologija” Nr. 2 for two grand pianos by Lithuanian composer Gintaras Sodeika, pieces by Sergei Rachmaninoff and Manuel Infante. Lithuanian composer’s music received most especial attention from audience. With the recital pianists ended their first tour in Japan. Ruta and Zbignevas Ibelhauptas performed in Miyazaki during “Lithuanian days” event and in Kuji while celebrating the 20 years anniversary of partnership between Klaipeda and Kuji. Organization of Lithuanian pianists’ concert tour was supported by EU-Japan Fest committee in Japan, International Miyazaki Youth Music Festival, Kuji municipal government, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania and Support Fund for Lithuanian Culture.
