Repatriation flight with stranded Lithuanians and other EU nationals started its journey from Bali to Vilnius
Today, a charter flight organized by company Kidy Tour, Ministries of Transport and Foreign Affairs and the Lithuanian Embassy in Japan took off from Denpasar Airport in Bali, Indonesia and is en route to Vilnius. This is the longest flight organized by the Lithuanian Government for Lithuanian citizens who have been stranded abroad due to canceled flights.
Arrangement of the flight as well demonstrated European solidarity with other EU countries – this flight will bring back not only over a hundred of Lithuanian citizens, but as well Latvian, Estonian and Spanish citizens, who will return from Lithuania to their respective countries. The EU Civil Protection Mechanism has also been deployed for successful flight preparation. We sincerely thank Gianita Kadarisman, Honorary Vice-Consul of Lithuania in Indonesia, and everybody who contributed to this difficult operation for their effort and dedication, and wish the passengers a good and safe flight home!
