Prime Minister Šimonytė visit to Japan

On October 26, 2022, Lithuania and Japan achieved a historic milestone - our Strategic Partnership was launched, announced by Prime Minister Šimonytė and Prime Minister Kishida.

Lithuania will continue to further deepen our partnership and remain committed to shared democratic values, respect to the rule of law and rules-based international order. Only by standing together we will overcome contemporary global security challenges and build on sustainable growth for our countries!

During her visit in Japan Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė was the Guest of Honor at a magnificent concert by Čiurlionis Quartet and a reception, dedicated to the 100 years anniversary of Friendship between Lithuania and Japan.

Prime Minister Šimonytė visited the memorial of Chiune Sugihara, Japanese diplomat and  Righteous Among the Nations, at Waseda University, and gave a lecture at Keio university.

On her last day of her visit she met with Mr. Nishimura, Minister of economy, trade and industry, and Mr. Nakasone, Member of Parliament.

During the last day of her visit Prime Minister Ingrida Simonyte met with Mr. Nishimura, Minister of economy, trade and industry, and Mr. Nakasone, Member of Parliament.

This visit opens new political, economic, R&D and cultural avenues and strengthens the bilateral ties accross a wide scope of sectors of our cooperation.
