On September 26, the Embassy made a presentation on Lithuanian hard cheese Džiugas to the Japanese trade and cheese businesses.
”Džiugas” is pride and joy of Žemaitijos Pienas, a world-renowned Lithuanian dairy producer - the company’s flagship cheese, winner of whopping 84 international prizes to date, now awaiting its 100th evaluation, that will coincide with the company’s 100th anniversary in 2024.
Lithuanian dairy producer Žemaitijos Pienas sells dairy products to both domestic and foreign markets, exporting 40% of its total output. The year 2022 was particularly successful, yielding awards in the Baltic Sea Region and beyond.
