Presentation of the Japanese garden in Lithuania
To promote tourism to the Baltic States, the Lithuanian, Latvian and Estonian Tourist Agencies launched a “Great Baltic Travel“ project in 2009, which embraced a total of 30 sites in the three countries. In Lithuania, the most visited site (400-600 visitors dayly) is the Valley of Singing Stones “Madzuchai“. It is the largest Japanese Garden project in Europe still under construction by the Japanese garden masters of Angyo Ueki, Ltd. The concept of the garden lies in creating a tourist, leisure, recreation and cultural center at a beautiful scenery close to the Baltic sea making use of archaic cultural heritage of the Balts and the Japanese, and employing progressive ecological technologies to create a long term value. Taking this opportunity, the Embassy of Lithuania invites you to attend a presentation of the “Madzuchai“ Japanese garden by its initiator Mr. Sarunas Kasmauskas (in Lithuanian, with Japanese translation) and Mr. Hajime Watanabe, President of Angyo Ueki, Ltd., and to discuss possible joint activities. For more information, please see http://www.japangarden.lt and http://www.greatbaltic.eu Date: Thursday, January 28, 2010 at 15.00 – 17.00Venue: The Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania 3-7-18 Moto-Azabu, Minato-ku, Tokyo 106-0046 Seating capacity is 40 persons, therefore prior registration is required at e-mail info@lithemb.or.jp
