Mori Art Museum 20th Anniversary Exhibition called "Our Ecology: Life on Planet Earth"
On October 18, the work of Lithuanian filmmaker Emilija Škarnulytė was exhibited at Mori Art Museum as part of Mori Art Museum 20th Anniversary Exhibition called "Our Ecology: Life on Planet Earth".
This exhibition offers the viewer to think about various environmental problems from different perspectives. Through sustainable exhibition production that minimizes transportation and reuses resources wherever possible, it encourages contemporary artists can to relate to the environmental crisis, making museums a place where such conversations could take place.
Emilija Škarnulytė presented her work <Time's Arrow> (2023, video installation). Emilija Škarnulytė is a filmmaker from Lithuania, whose work is somewhere between documentary and imagination. Her work explores deep time and invisible structures, from space and geology to ecosystems and politics. She is the winner of the 2019 Future Generation Art Award and will represent Lithuania at the 22nd Milan Triennale. She also exhibited her works at the Baltic Pavilion in 2018 during Venice Architecture Biennale. Her work is in the collections of IFA, Fondation Kadist and Center Pompidou, and has been shown at the Serpentine Gallery in the UK, the Center Pompidou in France and the Museum of Modern Art (MOMA) in New York.
