Memorial event in Minatoguchi Park in Numazu

On November 6, Consul of the Embassy of Lithuania Kristina Šaltė participated in the memorial event in Minatoguchi Park in Numazu, where a monument dedicated to Chiune Sugihara and his wife Yukiko was unveiled three years ago.

Madoka Sugihara, Chiune Sugihara's granddaughter, gave a welcome speech, followed by laying flowers by distinguished guests from embassies, the local government of Numazu City, NPO Visas for Life, and Takamatsu and Kato Gakuen High Schools.

Participants shared mutual appreciation for Chiune Sugihara's courage and humanity, noting the importance of perpetuating his memory in the minds of future generations.
