Lithuanian film “Emilia. Breaking Free” to be screened in Japan at European Union Film Festival “EU FILM DAYS 2018“

“Emilija iš Laisvės alėjos” (English title: Emilia.Breaking Free), a film by Donatas Ulvydas, will represent Lithuania in Japan at European Union Film Festival “EU Film Days 2018“

Lithuanian film “Emilia. Breaking Free” is about the fight for freedom in Soviet-repressed Lithuania – in a society where a “satiated” life seems more important than honour, a clear conscience, or humanity. It is the spring of 1972 when young people take to the streets of Kaunas to demand freedom for Lithuania, and Emilia, guarding the greatest secret of her life, is marching with the protesting crowd towards the life of their dreams.

“Emilia. Breaking Free” will be played:

June 7th at 15:00 and June 9th at 15:30 at National Film Archive of Japan (NFAJ), 3-7-6 Kyobashi, Chuo-ku, Tokyo 104-0031.

June 15th at 18:30 and June 16th at 11:00 at The Museum of Kyoto, Sanjo Takakura, Nakagyo-ku, Kyoto 604-8183.
