Lithuanian Chargé d'Affaires met Japanese Ambassador

On 10 January at the Embassy Dr. Albertas Algirdas Dambrauskas, Chargé d'Affaires of Lithuania in Japan, met with Miyoko Akashi, Japanese Ambassador to Lithuania, who visited Tokyo in order to participate in the meeting of Japanese ambassadors in Europe. During this meeting diplomats of two countries exchanged the views on possible visits of the Lithuanian state leaders to Japan, discussed bilateral economic and political issues, the need to prepare bilateral intergovernmental agreements.
Heads of the Lithuanian and Japanese Embassies noted with satisfaction that economic cooperation between Lithuania and Japan has good prospects for development. Both considered that, without a doubt, presence of JapaneseHitachi” company in Lithuania is one of the positive factors that will help strengthen bilateral economic ties. However, according to the joint opinion, the more intense exchange of tourists could also give favorable impact on development of bilateral relations, and yet that is not properly used opportunity.

A. Dambrauskas with M. Akashi discussed the idea to organize a trip of a Japanese tour guide editor to Lithuania in order to introduce on the spot basis our country's tourism sector and possibilities to organize tours from here to all the Baltic countries.
