Imperial visit to Lithuania

May 21, 2007. Today His Majesty Emperor of Japan and Her Majesty the Empress left for the visit to Europe. During the trip the Imperial couple will visit Sweden, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and the Great Britain.

The Imperial couple will arrive in Lithuania on Saturday, May 26th. The programme of the visit in Lithuania includes meeting with the President Valdas Adamkus, official luncheon at the Presidential Palace, wreath laying at the Memorial for the Fighters for the Freedom of Lithuania at Antakalnis Cemetery, visit to the Monument of the Japanese diplomat Chiune Sugihara and the attendance at the folklore festival Skamba skamba kankliai.
