Enthusiasts of Japanese Gardens Met at the Embassy

On April 26 the Embassy welcomed businessmen, journalists and enthusiasts of Japanese garderns both from Lithuania and Japan. During this gathering a new partnership agreement was signed and possibilities to further develop bilateral economic and cultural relations were discussed too.
 
The host of the event Mr. Dambrauskas Albertas Algirdas, Minister Plenipotentiary of the Embassy, stressed that Lithuanians have a deep interest in Japan, and that Japanese gardens are especially popular due to Lithuania’s own vast natural beauty. "That is a sign of close cooperation of Lithuanian and Japanese experts and their deep mutual understanding" - Mr. Dambrauskas said.
 
Mr. Šarūnas Kasmauskas, Chief Executive of „Japoniškas sodas Samogitia“ and Mr. Pranas Variakojis, one of the sponsors of the project, made their presentations on mounting, maintenance and perspectives of the project. According to them, Japanese garden enriches recreation possibilities of local residents and guests, as well, they were sure, it will help to know more about each other countries and their culture.
 
Mr. Šarūnas Kasmauskas, Chief Officer of “Japoniškas sodas Samogitia”, and Mr. Akio Sato, Chief Executive Officer of „Farm Inc. (Operator of Soleil)“, signed the Partnership Agreement, the purpose of which is to make conditions for the exchange of landscape and agricultural technologies through the interactions of two parks, hoping that in the future it will lead to the strengthening of ties between Kretinga and Yokosuka cities.
