'Duburys (Vortex)' at EU Film Days 2011
Like a year ago, EU Film Days brings the best of European cinema to audiences in Japan, including the Lithuanian film 'Duburys (Vortex)'.
Co-organised by the Delegation of the European Union to Japan, EU Member States' embassies and cultural institutes in Japan, the National Film Center (NFC) of the National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo, and this year also in Kyoto, Hiroshima, Okayama, Yamaguchi and Takamatsu, this unique festival is held as part of EU-Japan Friendship Week, during which a wide range of activities and events are held across Japan celebrating relations between Japan and Europe.
Films from EU Member States will be shown over a three-week period starting on Friday 27 May at the National Film Center in Tokyo. For more details: www.eufilmdays.jp
This year's selection of films includes a Lithuanian entry 'Duburys (Vortex)' (2009) directed by Gytis Luksas which will be shown for the very first time in Japan. It is a good opportunity to experience the distinction of Lithuanian film-making.
Later, it will be shown at Hiroshima City Cinematographic and Audio-visual Library.
