Concert on the occasion of the coming 30th anniversary of the re-establishment of Lithuanian-Japanese diplomatic relations
On September 22, on the occasion of coming 30th anniversary of the re-establishment of diplomatic relations between Lithuania and Japan, a concert was held at the Lithuanian Embassy in Japan. Representatives of Japanese state institutions, parliament, business and cultural circles, media, non-governmental organizations and the diplomatic corps and Lithuanian friends in Japan were invited to attend.
On October 6, 1991 Japan recognized the restored independence of Lithuania, and on October 10, 1991 diplomatic relations between Lithuania and Japan were restored. The then Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Algirdas Saudargas was informed about this by the then Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan Taro Nakayama. Diplomatic relations between Lithuania and Japan were established in 1922.
