Commemoration of the 75th Anniversary of the Hiroshima Atomic Bombing

On August 6, Minister Counsellor of the Lithuanian Embassy Algimantas Misevičius took part in the Commemoration of the 75th anniversary of the Hiroshima atomic bombing - Hiroshima Peace Memorial Ceremony.
In his video address sent on that occasion, President of Lithuania Gitanas Nausėda expressed his condolences to victims of the bombing. He called for a peaceful resolution of conflicts and prevalence of humanitarian principles, reminded the historical lesson of compassion taught by Chiune Sugihara, who issued "visas for life", thus saving human lives.
The Commemoration ceremony was attended by the Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe, representatives of the Japanese Government and Parliament, members of diplomatic corps.
