Commemoration of King Mindaugas Crowning Day
July 6 is the coronation day of King Mindaugas, who united the state of Lithuania in the 13th century. In recent years, the tradition of celebrating this day with Lithuanians all over the world singing the "National Anthem" has become established.
The Lithuanian community gathered on this day at the Lithuanian Embassy in Tokyo and joined in the chorus of the world-renowned "National Anthem".
During the meeting, the 700th anniversary of the city of Vilnius was also commemorated. On that occasion, both children and adults took part in a fun quiz and tested their knowledge about the capital of Lithuania, as well as recorded a video greeting.
In commemoration of the 65th anniversary of the Lithuanian World Community, members of the Lithuanian community in Japan collected donations for the commemorative sculpture of an angel.
