Chairman of Japan-Lithuania Friendship Parliamentary League Mr. H. Nakasone visits the Embassy
On April 14 2021, Mr. H. Nakasone, Chairman of Japan-Lithuania Friendship Parliamentary League, and Mr. M. Shimizu, Member of the House of Councilors of the Diet, paid a visit to the Lithuanian Embassy in Tokyo. During the meeting, participation of Lithuanian athletes in the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games, as well as inter-parliamentary relations were discussed.
Ambassador G. Varvuolis provided information about preparations of Lithuanian athletes for the Olympics in Tokyo and the plans of pre-camp training in Hiratsuka, the host town of the Lithuanian Olympic team. Mr. Nakasone conveyed a letter of the leaders of the Liberal Democratic Party the House of Councilors of the Diet. The letter welcomes athletes and Heads of State at the Olympics, and emphasizes Japan's commitment to organize safe games, ensuring a balance between preventive measures to stop the infection and creating the right conditions for training and competition.
