“Boylston Jazz” concert at the Lithuanian Embassy in Tokyo
Lithuanian-Japanese-Korean jazz band “Boylston Jazz” gave a concert on November 6, 2019 at the Lithuanian Embassy in Tokyo.
Junya Fukumoto (piano, Japan), Liutauras Janušaitis (saxophone, Lithuania) and Keisuke Higashino (bass, Japan) moved the audience by their performance, which blended jazz with a wide range of styles, including classical and pop music, as well as some Lithuanian tunes. They create a new sound that is exciting and fresh, but also familiar and accessible, and the musicians aim to share the joy of this borderless music with their audience.
One of the highlights of the concert was the Lithuanian tune “Bijūnėli”, performed by Mayako Fukumoto.
Having completed its 2019 Japan tour, Boylston Jazz is heading to its South Korea tour and will play in Lithuania at Birštonas Jazz Festival on March 27-29, 2020.
Boylston Jazz band is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year.
