Article on Lithuania in “The Japan Times”

On the occasion of February 16 - the Day of Restoration of the State of Lithuania - “The Japan Times” published an article by Ambassador G. Varvuolis “Celebrating bilateral relations, paying tribute to Chiune Sugihara”.
The article gives a broad overview of the strengthening bilateral Lithuanian-Japanese political, economic and cultural relations, cooperation on regional and municipal level and Olympic expectations. A special attention is given to events in Lithuania and Japan commemorating the 80th anniversary of Ch. Sugihara's “visas for life,” and the 120th anniversary of his birth.
