“The Jerusalem Post” published article “Commemorating 'Visas for Life' on Holocaust Remembrance Day” by Gabrielius Landsbergis, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, and Toshimitsu Motegi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan. The article is dedicated to Ch. Sugihara's humanitarian deed of saving human lives by issuing “visas for life” to Jewish war refugees in Kaunas 80 year ago.
“Today, on International Holocaust Remembrance Day, let us pay tribute to those who, guided by their moral compass, did not remain indifferent in the face of the tragedy of the Holocaust”, conclude the ministers.
The article also refers to activities of Sugihara House, the museum established in the former Japanese Consulate building in Kaunas.
