Ambassador G. Varvuolis took part in the Lithuanian Week events in Hiratsuka
Ambassador G. Varvuolis visited the closing events of the Lithuanian Week in Hiratsuka. Together with Mayor of the city K. Ochiai, he welcomed the audience at a screening of the film "Persona non-grata".
During the event, a video about Sugihara House in Kaunas was also shown, and a presentation of Lithuanian products and a photo exhibition took place. The Ambassador also visited Exhibition of Lithuanian folk art exhibited at Hiratsuka Art Museum. The exhibition, prepared by the Lithuanian National Culture Centre, which has reached Japan with the help of the Embassy and it will be exhibited in Japanese towns that foster relations with Lithuania.
During the meeting with Mayor K. Ochiai and members of the Exchange Committee with Lithuania, the Ambassador also discussed the prospects of arrival and training of Lithuanian athletes in preparation for Tokyo Olympic Games, taking into account travel restrictions caused by the pandemic. Hiratsuka is the official host town of the Lithuanian Olympic team in Japan.
