Ambassador A. Varvuolis participated in events of ”Lithuania NOW 2020” festival
On December 12-13, Ambassador A. Varvuolis participated in events of ”Lithuania NOW 2020” festival in Yaotsu, Gifu Prefecture.
At the closing ceremony on Sunday, a miniature of the sculpture, dedicated to memory of Sugihara unveiled in Kaunas, was symbolically handed over to Mayor of Yaotsu. During the festival, Dora Theater performance "Sempo Sugihara" was also shown, an exhibition of photographs, Lithuanian folk articles and costumes made in Yaotsu town was held, Lithuanian products were available, and Lithuanian culinary heritage was presented. The Ambassador discussed cooperation plans for 2021 with Governor of Gifu H. Furuta, President of Gifu Assembly, President of University of Gifu, the Mayor of Yaotsu and the Honorary Consul of Lithuania.
Lithuania NOW is a traditional event organized annually in Gifu Prefecture, which fosters friendly relations with Lithuania.
