On 14 November in Brussels, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Gabrielius Landsbergis will attend Foreign Affairs Council, which will hold exchanges of views on the Russian aggression against Ukraine, the possible elements of a renewed EU approach to the Great Lakes region in Africa, and Western Balkans. Ministers will also discuss topical foreign policy issues: the latest developments in Iran and Lebanon, the UN Climate Change Conference (COP27), and the outcome of the meeting of ministers of foreign affairs from the EU and from the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) in Buenos Aires.

On 18 July in Brussels, Belgium, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Gabrielius Landsbergis attended the Foreign Affairs Council and discussed Russia’s war against Ukraine, the EU’s next steps in providing comprehensive support for Ukraine, including its reconstruction. The Council reached a political agreement on the allocation of another EUR 500 million for military assistance to Ukraine.

The European Union and other like-minded countries must continue to step up their severe sanctions against Russia until the country stops its aggression against Ukraine and withdraws its troops from occupied territories.
